We’re doing recipes this month and perhaps the most famous poetry recipe of all is from the great Bard himself, Shakespeare. The second witch in Macbeth recites the infamous recipe for spell-casting ghostly apparitions. Today’s poetry prompt invites you to use the recipe as a starting point for an outcome in today’s world.
A HEALING SPELL
Let your cauldron never bubble
only gently simmer, begin with
purest water, at new moon
add starlight glimmer.
Take a bell of blue, for kindness,
and a handful of honesty,
day’s eye for innocence & hope,
larkspur for lightness of the heart,
temper with blind black-eyed-Susan,
that justice may prevail.
Add rosemary that we should not forget,
and sage for the choices to be made,
stir with a willow wand at sunrise,
and then simply watch and wait.
Seems very aposite given it's the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq Lesley, and a recommendation we could all do with paying attention to.
That's a special brew Lesley - I could do with a drop of that
Brilliant sound & video combo...off to concoct...
